The second wave were students attracted by the building of the University of California at San Francisco. During this time people from a number of places in Asia including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Pacific Islanders and Vietnamese also settled here and raised families and developed businesses.
The final significant wave showed up during the real estate boom that made inflated home prices and started the Starbucks, Mega Store gentrification of most of San Francisco.
